Eyelid Lift FAQs
Does an eyelid lift remove excess fat or skin?
The short answer is both. Bags under the eyes are usually caused by fat herniation, which can be corrected with the lower eyelid lift. Loose, sagging skin on the upper or lower eyelids can also be removed as needed.
Dr. Anthony will be able to assess the nature of your symptoms during your consultation.
Is this the same thing as ptosis repair?
Ptosis describes the condition when the upper eyelids sag specifically because of weak levator muscles. This muscle can be tightened during an upper blepharoplasty as well.

Will my results be permanent?
Lower blepharoplasties rarely need to be repeated. An upper blepharoplasty will occasionally require a follow-up treatment in the distant future if the upper eyelid skin begins to sag again with aging.
