A mini facelift uses smaller incisions and focuses on lifting and tightening the skin of the lower face and jawline to give your profile a smoother and younger appearance. It offers a quicker recovery period and still provides long-lasting results.
How is a Deep Plane Facelift Performed?
During a deep plane facelift, Dr. Anthony lifts the underlying muscle layer of the face by releasing the ligaments that anchor the superficial musculoaponeurotic system, or SMAS, layer. This allows the entire layer to be lifted and moved without creating tension. This procedure refines the facial contours, eliminates sagging, lifts the cheeks, and completely rejuvenates the appearance of the face. A deep plane facelift has a longer recovery period but offers the most dramatic improvements.
- RBruising, swelling, and discomfort will be present for the first few days.
- RMost sutures will be removed approximately one week later.

Patients also need to sleep on their backs with their heads elevated until otherwise directed by Dr. Anthony. Additionally, you may use an ice pack to mitigate any soreness, following a strategy of 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off.
