Benefits of CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing
People develop skin irregularities over time due to factors like sun damage, the aging process, and acne. The skin can experience a number of issues, such as uneven pigmentation, rough patches, wrinkles, and acne scars.
CO2 laser skin resurfacing is a non-surgical skin-rejuvenation procedure that effectively treats all of these issues. It enhances the color and complexion of the skin, making it look younger, tighter, firmer, and more radiant.
This skin treatment can address several issues:
- RAged skin
- REnlarged pores
- RFine lines around the eyes and mouth
- RSun-damaged skin
- RYellowish or grayish skin tone
- RLiver spots
- RNon-responsive skin after a facelift
- RScars from acne or chickenpox
Why the Lumenis UltraPulse® CO2 Laser Device Stands Out
The Lumenis UltraPulse® device is renowned for its versatility and effectiveness in skin resurfacing treatments, distinguishing it from other CO2 laser devices on the market. What makes the UltraPulse® stand out is its ability to deliver high-precision, deep, and controlled ablation with minimal thermal damage to surrounding tissues.
It offers four distinct treatment modes, each of which can be customized to address a variety of skin resurfacing needs. These settings are designed to target different skin layers and conditions, from superficial concerns like fine lines and pigmentation to deeper issues such as wrinkles, acne scars, surgery and injury scars, and other significant skin imperfections.

Ideal Candidates for Lumenis UltraPulse® Laser Skin Resurfacing
Patients who are in good overall health, have good skin elasticity, and do not have healing-related scarring issues are excellent candidates. You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding and cannot have any active skin infections or rashes in the treatment area(s).
Preparing for Your Appointment
Patients will receive detailed preparation guidelines before undergoing CO2 laser skin resurfacing at our Tampa Bay facility. To ensure the skin’s utmost protection, patients are advised to apply sunscreen consistently for the month leading up to the laser resurfacing procedure.
Additionally, any herbal supplements or medications that may inhibit blood clotting should be temporarily stopped prior to the session. Furthermore, patients should abstain from smoking, as this habit can impede the skin’s healing process and overall treatment efficacy.
The CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing Treatment Session
Most of these sessions are relatively quick and convenient, especially with the Lumenis UltraPulse®’s powerful laser technology. The targeted area(s) will first be cleaned, and the patient will wear protective goggles. Local anesthesia with sedation may be needed for certain patients.
The laser handpiece will be held over each treatment area, emitting controlled laser energy. We can easily switch between different treatment modes as necessary.
The Recovery Process
Following CO2 laser skin resurfacing at Anthony Aesthetics, comprehensive recovery instructions will be provided to support your healing process and mitigate the risk of infection. It’s common for patients to encounter temporary redness, dryness, and bruising in the treated area(s).
Peeling is a natural part of post-laser resurfacing and should not cause concern. It’s imperative to resist the urge to scratch or pick.
Over time, the redness will progressively diminish. Protecting the healing skin is crucial; be sure to wear sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) and avoid prolonged exposure to the sun’s rays.
Patient testimonialnothing short of amazing
“The CO2 laser facial resurfacing was, as expected, somewhat uncomfortable, but the dramatic improvement in skin tone, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles on this 67 year old face, is nothing short of amazing! My husband remarked that my skin is now “smooth and glowing”. Dr. Anthony is a talented, skilled surgeon, and he and his staff are professional, personable, and caring. I would not hesitate to recommend him!”
